But its intrinsically tied to Ash, its died for Ash and nearly died watching Ash die. It’d be totally unbelievable for either Ash or Pikachu to abandon eachother so they are a packaged deal. You want Pikachu, THAT pikachu you must have Ash. They tried Pikachu substitutes and nobody wanted it. Ash is here to stay as long as Pikachu is marketable
