>>51357149>This Pokémon being ugly because it’s based on an animal known for being ugly is bad because… because… because! *Ahem*
>Le big head It’s a Pokémon, not an animal. Pokémon has always been animesque, don’t be surprised that it adopts anime tropes (I.E. odd proportions). The art style has changed but that’s entirely subjective unless you’re autistic and hate change.
>Ugliness Feebas fails at being particularly ugly and relies of informed ugliness. Grafaiai is meant to be ugly, and many people such as myself find it ugly cute. It’s subjective.
>Unappealing colour scheme It’s literally just neutrals and near neutrals and then three pops of colour. It works to make it feel ugly/off because it’s an aye-aye and it’s meant to be a hoodlum.
>Frankenstein The only parts that look off are the ears, eyes, and fingers… and lo and behold, they look off on Aye-Ayes too.
>Abstract animal How the fuck can a living breathing animal we know exists be abstract it’s not a concept. Just say “exotic” or “weird” instead of misusing bigboy words.
Grafaiai captures the Aye-Aye’s traits very well and I think it’s great. Seethe more because you can’t detach yourself from a series you obviously no longer enjoy.
