I caught a Steelix on a randomized White run. I'd never really liked its design, and hate using the "no strength but high defense" kind of Pokmon, but decided to give her a chance because Elesa's gym was coming up and I had no other ground-types.
She proved to be amazing. Rocks demolished the Emolgas, and she shrugged off Zebstraika's Flame Change even with the steel-type weakness. She stuck with me for the entire rest of the run, Stealth Rocking and Dragon Tailing and not giving a single fuck.
Pretty much that entire team was full of unexpected ladybros, but Steelix was the one who surprised me the most.
