In this world pokeballs are heavily controlled by Rocket Yakuza. All Pokemon are gained by defeating rocket bosses and area "dungeons". At most you will be able to obtain 100 pokemon until the afterstory where you will be able to purchase any as you please. Battles play out like a fighting game, you have your four base attacks but you can combine them for combos. Arenas will have variable terrain, certain water pokemon will be forced to fight in water such as magikarp and other pokemon cannot even enter water such as slugma. The world consists of a huge neon 80's city in the center (the hub) with the starting slums to the south, scattered islands in the east, mountains and deserts to the west and plains and thick forests to the north. You either join the Rockets and fight the leaders to earn your way to the top, you can try to dismantle them or you can work to create your own organisation.
