But as comfy and great the games are, it seriously blows that the mechanics are so outdated because I've been trying to breed for a competitive team, both because I'm a tard and because I want to appreciate at least 6 of the amazing back sprites gen 4 had, like Lopunny for example. Getting perfect shinies is a whole different ballpark, too. I at least have the Cute Charm glitch going for me, so getting the shinies isn't necessarily difficult, just that they don't feel earned, which is the whole point of being an autist for any of this. Don't forget balltism since gen 4 has some seriously great Pokeball animations, back when Premier Ball didn't shoot out ugly yellow sparkles and Cherish Ball made rainbows appear instead of a cloud of glitter.
It really rubs me the wrong way, though, that some sort of hacking HAS to be involved to realistically achieve my dream team. Worst part is that I've been trying to do the same for BW2, and it's the exact same torture because Destiny Knot isn't worth anything until gen 6.
