You can only ask for so much without giving anything back. I know this first-hand because when I first joined WFG, I had almost nothing, but I tried to contribute what little I had - instead of nothing - and it paid off.
People saw that I tried contributing, so they gave me leftovers - even though they didn't want my crap - solely because I worked towards my goal instead of just asking for handouts.
