America's obsession with the "TOTALLY RADICAL OFF THE CHAIN DUDES" stuff during the 90s meant that FLAMING DINOSAUR DRAGON and TANK TURTLE WITH GUNS BRO were cool but jungle plant monster didn't quite meet those exact standards. To this day a lot of people just assume the Bulbasaur line is the weakest and universally least popular of the original three simply because it wasn't as popular as the other two in 90s America even though Venusaur is demonstrably the strongest of the three final evos and Bulbasaur is perhaps the most beloved of all of the first stages worldwide despite the meme of it being "the one nobody ever picked lmao." And it's always hilarious whenever these boomers (and a subset of zoomers who were hit by the ramped up zard shilling since gen 6) actually try to deny this.
