YGO and Pokemon are both basically 20-minute commercials, but at least YGO had some decent af source material, while Pokemon is just a Pokemon-of-the-week show where Ash meets some stupid Pokemon and tries to help it then Team Rocket comes then Pikachu or the Pokemon they were trying to help beats them rinse and repeat. Ash never learns or grows or changes, and none of the other characters do either. As a matter of fact, they're scrapped at the end of each season along with all his Pokemon.
