The comparison of Santa was to mock the idea that not believing in something requires faith. The entire point of nearly all theistic and atheistic arguments is about whether a god exists, not whether gods have been invented throughout time. People from all over have believed in spirits that tend to the house if one leaves offerings; this has no bearing on their veracity and is wholly irrelevant. It's called the genetic fallacy. Way to miss all the things I've actually been arguing against.
