Soul, post game(content), story(difficulty could fall here), quality, inclusion of established themes(gen1 etc), and innovation.
Hgss had some relatively high points in these regards, although in some points its not the best it still is excellent in a wide variety of things fans are seeking. Its very hard to balance these and its one of the few games that does.
