Now, let me share my thoughts about each game now.
>RangerThe most difficult one without a doubt. Its "combat" system requires not only fast hands but also good thinking. Almost every Pokemon is unique in some way.
Original Ranger is also the shortest. Its campaign isn't long and it doesn't have much postgame material. It's very easy to complete.
Characters are memorable and region is small (although comfy).
>Ranger Shadows of AlmiaAdds few new things (like optional quests) but completely misses the original's charm, IMO. Firstly, sequel's campaign is too long for this sort of gameplay. Secondly, combat system has been sterilized - Pokemon are too similar to each other and you don't have to think much while capturing. Grade system can kiss my ass since S rank is hard to get while not being rewarding enough.
On a plus side, RPG elements from the original game are much more emphasized here. You level up faster and you upgrade your styler.
Although the story is pretty good, it's obnoxiously annoying at times (overabundance of cutscenes and evil team battles). Region itself is very diverse, although backtracking gets annoying.
>Ranger Guardian SignsCopies a lot from Shadows of Almia but refined previous mechanics. Combat system is still kinda brainless, however it's more fun. You are not limited as much and getting S ranks is easier.
RPG elements here are definitely the best since you can choose what to upgrade for points you gather from missions and S rank captures.
You are able to ride legendary Pokemon in this version which is a really cool feature actually.
Also, graphics got a very noticeable boost.
Story and region are slightly worse than in previous titles, however I still think Guardian Signs is the best for abovementioned improvements.
