>>22915934Your Team Rocket characters are Jessy and James with ekans, koffing, and meowth as their pokemon. It was the only "Gen 1" game that had color and was the first game where you could teach Charizard Fly.
None of the issues concerning mechanics were addressed yet, so it plays exactly like Red and Blue (Green?). Pikachu follows you and your acquisition of some Pokemon depend on your relationship with the fucker - but they make it easy to maintain a good relationship so long as you keep him in your party.
You get ALL THE STARTERS! by Vermillion city and if you manage to obtain a surfing Pikachu you can play a minigame near the southern shore of Fushia City.
As for lineup suggestions, pick Pokemon with utility - ones that can learn a bunch of different types of moves. Good examples are Tauros, Nidoking, Rhydon, Aerodactyl, Snorlax, and Clefable. A good psychic type like Hypno, Alakazam, or Gengar. Maybe do a few mix-types like Exeggcutor, Tenticruel, and Charizard. It's fun when you build a team with purpose, but consult Bulbapedia and plan ahead, that way youi don't waste trainer experience. There's little replay value after Elite 4 and Cerulean(sp?) Cave.
If you haven't, Play Gold/Silver/Crystal if you enjoy Yellow.
