Hina died from a crit Karate Chop from a Machop at full health. Jasper got killed by a random Abra packing HP Grass or Water. My would-be HM slave, Ralphie, died while grinding him up before I could get the Exp. Share. If it weren't for having Konan in the PC, I actually would've softlocked myself since none of my other living Pokemon can learn Cut.
Anna, the Meditite in the box, is going to be the Strength/Rock Smash slave. I'll have to figure the rest of the HM distribution as I go, but so far, we're not in immediate danger of softlocking the run.
Otherwise, everything has gone according to keikaku. Morbius has started to pull his weight and absolutely carried the Gardenia fight. Poison/Flying really is the worst type imaginable for a Grass-type to go up against. I'm hoping to get him to become a Golbat during the Team Galactic building fights in Eterna City.
Ponyta seems like the most likely encounter for Route 206, although I'm hoping for Bronzor in order to guarantee Gible later on in Wayward Cave. Stunky would be acceptable too. Kricketot/Kricketune would be infuriating, although I can avoid them entirely with the Repel trick - only problem would be that I'd be unable to catch Bronzor this way. Should I avoid the Kricketot line and risk losing access to Gible later on, or should I gamble in hopes for the 10% Bronzor encounter?
