All the talented oldfag drawfags (Teckworks, Keijumatsu, Boogie, etc) abandoned the drawthreads and the board.
A bunch of children started to slowly seep in.
The games started nosediving in quality and core fan reception; the honeymoon of X/Y wearing off, the Battle Frontier snub of OR/AS, etcetera. It's just been a steep decline ever since. There's nothing good or nothing to be hopeful about anymore. Just rabid arguing, shitposting, baiting, autism, spamming, falseflagging... Gen 7 is when people began giving lovers of certain gens specific nicknames (Unovabortions, Sinnohfetuses, etc.).
Every now and then there's a brief spurt of activity and fun, like a new gen announcement, or the weeks before release (And the leak season that comes with it). But it's like 3 months after each new gen released past Gen 6 everything immediately dies down and there's large gaps of inactivity or just autists clinging on and disseminating vitriolic takes 24/7.
2010-2013 was the golden age of /tr/ enjoying HG/SS, BW/BW2 and early XY. Now it's just shit. I feel your pain OP. I only come here for shitposts now.
