>>51158969>little kidsYes, a new batch of kids play Pokemon with each new generation. Some people in the fanbase today often claim to have started with XY when they were around 8 or so.
>coomersYes. The really autistic ones are the ones who stick with it and want to stick their dick in the Trainers and/or the Pokemon. But coomers have always been a thing, so whatever.
>consoomersSeems like it. I imagine normies bought SwSh because it was on the Switch, which everyone has because it was for those who both preferred handheld consoles and home consoles because its 2-in-1. They weren't limited by not having a Game Boy/DS/etc anymore and probably wanted to go back to a classic franchise with modern QOL improvements or finally find out what Pokemon is really all about.
>vgc/showdown playersDunno. I actually ignore 80% of the fanbase because that's what you're supposed to do.
In some ways this was pretty much the way it has always been, but /vp/ is definitely filled with more coomers than it ever was about 5-8 years ago and I blame lockdowns and dexit. As for me, I'm just some autistic husbandofag who has nothing better to do but I still play the games and I will probably still be here for years to come. People who claim that nobody cares about Pokemon act like the franchise is as small as the indie company that develops it and it just isn't true.
