She prefers letting people show their true colors and THEN do something about it because her own existence as a seemingly incorruptible "mutant" means that despite the slim possibility for one to turn out like her and defy the temptations to just go apeshit with the abilities they had been blessed with, not *everyone* by default is immediately prone to going villain mode.
But with that in mind she knows "normies" are too weak to deal with more "properly developed" 'mutants' and is often more than willing to do the culling if the 'mutant individual' in question has indeed gone off the deep end and considers it a bit of her responsibility to send that message to others as one of very few people with such a gift that didn't turn into some kind of megalomaniac.
