Just because certain Pokémon like Charizard, Blaziken, Lucario, and Greninja are more popular doesn't automatically mean they're better. Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are currently some of the most popular artists in modern music, but they're all shit. The only reason why Grass-type Pokémon aren't marketed by Game Freak is because they don't appeal to kids who are the target audience of the Pokémon fanbase. Grass-types tend to appeal more to mature adults who are in the minority.
