>>41852416The only reason why Misty was kicked out is because the franchise was too popular. So they just couldn't cancel the TV anime to promote Gen 3+ stuff (popular as in a global phenomenon.) Otherwise Ash would have married Misty a long time ago. In 2019, when TV isn't THAT relevant anymore(it still is, but not to the same extent). Pokemon really doesn't need an anime to promote itself. I mean, Zelda, Mario, Crash Banditcoot etc never needed a cartoon. (Well, Zelda did have a TV series by DiC but I'm not sure if that one counts).
