Ash is done. His character has nowhere to develop, it sucks if he wins, it sucks if he loses, his time had passed a long time ago.
It would be VERY difficult to have a worse protagonist at this point. I say this as someone who likes Ash and am sad to see him go.
But it’s time. Far past it, in fact. Let the boy rest, he did good.
