>>49975812Can't really blame it for not being appealing after we outgrow the target demographic and franchise fatigue seems inevitable, but things could've been handled better. Personally I felt alienated in gen 3 for numerous reasons, it was a huge blow. Still coped through 4/5/6 but 7/8/9 are just unappealing to keep up with and mostly off my radar.
It should've been clear things were never going back when the creative heads & VAs left in gen 3, but I didn't know about all this back then. I also blame the founding of the pokemon company even if it was a necessary evil at the time. I don't know the nitty gritty details but I 100% think they crushed the soul of the series.
But desu in retrospect even gen 2's branding/vibe/anime/half the designs/etc didn't live up to gen 1's quality. the games were good & are most important but everything else started to suck.
