They played themselves because TPC/GF addressed them and they still focus on them.
Yet I don't mean dexit and OoT but Home giving access to pokemon SwSh doesn't currently have access to and when gamers made fun of the low textures like in the city they addressed it.
TPC/GF can monopolize on that because instead of the outcry being "my following pokemon", "my battle animation", or "my models" they spent all that time with the memes.
Sure while nearly 100k people protested with #gamefreaklied that's barely reaching 3% of the entire fanbase.
That's why those moves and slurpee don't help at all but the outcry group latches on to them expecting change.
