The rewards are shit for ranked, you can easily farm 100k LP in less than half the time it would take you to create a comp ready team. Golden Caps? Can be brought. A fucking TM? Trash. Don't get me started on how wonky the move relearner is, that's a whole other can of worms that didn't need touching because it worked flawlessly in SwSh.
