Imagine if you would, a new type of intro to Pokemon.
>The game has you start of with, of all things, a quiz or series of quizzes.
>If you get a passing mark, your character starts the game by graduating from a Pokemon Academy, like the ones we see in every Pokemon game but rarely use, and you can begin the game with no tutorial
>If you fail, the game says you've unfortunately flunked, but that it's okay, and then goes onto a full proper tutorial where you attend the trainer school, use rental pokemon to complete said tutorial, and once it's done you automatically graduate and go on your adventure
>Depending on whether you go through the tutorial or not can change your relationships with rival-esque NPCs, one set from your first cohort and one from your next cohort
>Graduate first try, those NPCs become your rivals and are proper Blue/Silver levels of "Yeah, I wanna beat you" and the next cohort characters become your juniors who look up to you
>Fail first try, the NPCs from the first cohort may look down on and possibly pity or dislike you again embodying the Blue/Silver mentality, while your next cohort become your proper rivals but are more friendly like more recent gens to accomodate for younger children
>Bonus Points if Earl Dervish runs the whole thing
Tell me guys, would you play a Pokemon game with this style of intro?
