I remember when I was playing Colosseum a few months back that I had more trouble snagging Tyranitar than I expected, but I also thought the beasts were easier to catch than most legendaries (especially by Gen 3 standards).
Turns out they actually do have different catch rates compared to the mainline games, along with quite a few other Pokémon from both of the Orre games. Glad it wasn't just me.
