If I have a pokemon - ANY pokemon - in current-year Game Freak, there is a good chance that it will never see the light of day in new games because of this corporate shift that Masuda and Friends are adopting.
Imagine loving Incineroar and then never getting to use it in Gen 8, 9 or even fucking 10 because of this. This is highly unlikely given that it's a starter pokemon, but apply this to any other pokemon outside of the proverbial "startermon" and you can see that this is quite literally Game Freak's Infinity Gauntlet and it will happen with every fucking game going forward.
