Just started a run of Liquid Crystal, and my luck's been terrible so far. I didn't expect the levels to jump so quickly, and I ended losing my Chikorita. I didn't encounter a Geodude in either of the spots, and I captured two Bug type instead (Caterpie and Weedle). You would think the Onix would help, but nope. He won't obey me because I don't have a badge yet, which is going to make him pretty useless later on because he'll have to be underleveled.
>>43316288I think they're fine. Firstly, the odds of you having the right Pokemon are low. Secondly, if you think about it, you're sometimes giving up two Pokemon for one. For instance, I won't be able to accept the Egg or catch a Pokemon in the lake in Violet City.
