>>47155345>Gen 1I first played this when I was 5-6. The graphics, especially Green, was awful. Yellow kinda rectified that. It was also pretty limited by technology. Music overlapped each other because of the nature of 8-bit.
>Gen 2It feels like... the new region has a lot of weak Pokemon. I don't mean babymon like Magby or Igglybuff (but they do play a factor), but the single stage or two stage Pokemon that just wasn't satisfying to use.
Most Gym Leaders use Kanto Pokemon.
Again, limited by technology, so Viridian Forest is gone.
>Gen 3Day and night cycle is gone, and the scarce availability of Johto Pokemon.
>Gen 4IT'S SO FUCKING SLOW. I'm about 13-14 when I started playing Pearl, but young me didn't consider this a problem. Maybe I have a lot of focus back then.
>Gen 5Pixel vomit graphics and less freedom to explore.
It's my favorite generation, though>Gen 6Railroading becomes more apparent, Pokemon design start being weird, no third version, remakes are disappointing that I quit the franchise for a full year.
>Gen 7My then gf bought me Sun.
Railroading becomes blatant. Cutscenes are nauseating. Conversations are asinine. Animations are SHIT. Felt rushed and unloved.
>Gen 8I have no plan to play this piece of shit.
masuda snapped half the pokedex to dust and sold the ashes to us. (IoA and CT)
I would imagine railroading and cutscenes from gen 7 are still here and just as if not worse.
Pokemon designs venture to the extremes. If it's good, it's good (Falinks, Grimmsnarl, Corviknight). If it's bad, it's so fucking bad (that shiny metal toilet dinosaur thing, Drednaw, Flapple / Appletun, Toxtricity, Obstagoon, etc.)
For the first time in the series, the music truly is bad. I don't know why, but it just doesn't sound like Pokemon anymore. It feels so sterile and bland.
