One of the most important things to define in a story, in my opinion, is the scope of it. I know I want to write a story where Merry goes outside of her comfort zone to explore new horizons and find a new lease on life, but I don't know yet how to accomplish that. Cozy travels where she meets new people? Going through the usual League circuit? Stumbling upon a conspiracy and being forced to stand against evildoers? Actually, writing this down, I kinda have an idea or two, but I'll have to work on a draft first.
Meanwhile, I've narrowed down my setting to three possible choices:
>Georgia and Florida: using Atlanta as someone here suggested as inspiration for a big city environment, while keeping a "wilder" area down South. Would require me to do the most research.
>California: not as original but I know it better, plus it has its share of natural beauty AND urban hellscapes to draw inspiration from.
>Unova: this is the "in case of creative bankruptcy break glass" option, only if I just can't come up with anything original.
Anyway, to engage with the thread a little more:
>>Thread Question: What went into the naming of your OC? What is your OC's full name?
It's a dumb joke, really: the person named Merry is anything but. She doesn't have a full name yet.
