The first hoenn game I played was Sapphire and I enjoyed it so much I bought Emerald when it got out. Played through it so many times I've used pretty much all hoenn pokémon.
Loved the story, the region, the music, pokémon, etc.
But I understand that this is only my opinion and not everyone sees the game like I see it. I personally enjoyed all pokémon games, I played them all, remakes included. But Hoenn feels special to me, maybe because it was such a jump forward from johto. I don't know.
