Lets be sure to repost this in the new thread so we can keep discussing it.
Also Politoed and Poliwrath are both frogs. Neither is a tadpole>>22703146>>22703343>>22703355Also I've been reading these and I conclude that they could make for excellent Pokemon. I see them being a Grass/Rock type based on mutant plants (which goes very well with the Extremophile habitat of pokemon that have adapted to many unlivable conditions other than the high salinity of the water) with a dessign based on Alan Moore's Swamp Thing as a throwback to a beloved pop culture character.
Still, we'd have to make it look more like a pokemon and highlight the Rock typing (which is based on the salt it needs, salt being a mineral and because we really have to watch out for having too many Water types). We could represent the rocks as clusters of solid salt of variable sizes.
I can also see it having a signature move similar to Brine, but with extra power, like 90-100 BP, as a reference to its relation with water and, concretely, saltwater.
