Getting into a wild encounter isn't a smooth transition - you briefly stop and load before encounters
Overworld graphics were poor and uninspired (especially the npc/player model stylization)
Included features from other titles that people didn't ask for that fundamentally change the game experience from DP (Exp Share for entire party and unavoidable "Amie" boosts where the mon can shrug off status/get 100% crit rate/survive any attack at 1 hp)
