>>54686292>but it all comes down to executionAnd the execution has always been going on a downward dip long before even SM switched things up. The most notable gym shit are either the first or the last, with the exceptions being gym leaders that had spend more than 3 to 4 episodes. And even then the latter dried up somewhat.
I tune in because I like the show rn for that long-term shit and the previous ones for the mix ups in regards to the assets they utilize. Brassius battle? While not challenged for an badge or the sorts, it helped Roy out and underlined both sides well. Less is more sometimes, same was for TRio in SM. The times where they then did showed up, it was usually more renewing in flexibility than anything else.
I am honestly looking forward to each friday that I made a timer for when a new ep is about to air. But I can see the reasons behind the discontent within that new storytelling structure, I really do.
This "episodic against long-term storyline" in Pokemon is always gonna be a can of worms. Wouldn't surprise me if by the end of it like a Koharufag redpilled on months ago, that at the start of gen 10 and the new show after 3 years, it's gonna be the second coming of the XY to SM in relation to the shift. (But probably without all the shitflinging and more about going in circles about what is more valuable to one viewing it)
