As a kid, you have imagination, and it doesn’t even occur to you that you’re using it when you’re imagining these areas in Pokémon, as they would look in real life, embellishing smaller elements. Now, as an adult, you have essentially no imagination, and you’re not even willing to use what little you have on it out of sheer spite for the fact that the game didn’t put in the effort for you. Face it, kids are just more likely to accept things as it is than adults, who, knowing more about the world in general, would rather seethe about everything they know it’s not
