21 in April here. My cousin first showed me Red version, then I caught an episode of the show (Charmander the Stray Pokemon) and I was hooked. My mom surprised me coming home from preschool one day by handing me a game boy pocket (full transparent) and Red. I would go through so many AAAs just trying to get through Mt. Moon.
Then I had to have all the VHSs, all the figures, had to have a pack of cards every time we went out shopping, looking back I was pretty spoiled.
My fourth birthday I received a stuffed Pikachu. My mom just found out she was pregnant with my sister, and once we discovered it was a girl, I threw a fit and started calling Pikachu my "brother." On the day my sister was born I was given a Pocket Pikachu and I was elated. He even brushed his teeth before bed!
I would go on to play every main series game until RSE, when I only played Sapphire. All the other boys I knew stopped playing then. But Diamond came out the day before my birthday in 2007, so I wanted to give it a shot and I was blown away. I bought Battle Revolution to play on TV, and since then I have picked up at least one version of the game on release date. My favorite game has to be HeartGold. I still have my Pokewalker loaded with the Celebi I got when we went to the mall on a school trip in 2009/10? I started collecting cards again with BW and still collect today.
Huge part of my life and I can't give it up for anything.
