>>51732799Every gen since 6/7 have been "laying new groundwork". They removed gyms from 7 but added them back in 8. They introduce Megas/Z-Moves/Dynamax only to remove them. PLA is a good example of a more open-world Pokemon game. SV is going back to the "beat 8 gyms and elite 4/champion" formula. Tera-whatever will be removed in gen 10 for some other cheap bs.
