When it comes down to it, though, all the exclusives I like are in Shield. I do prefer Sword's dragon pseudo offerings, and anything's better than the fucking penguin, but I don't actually plan on using any of them on my team. (Obstagoon, Centiskorch, Toxtricity, Dragapault, Barraskewda and Purrserker)
All but one of my friends are getting Sword, and the sole other Shield friend doesn't pay for Online. The original plan was that I'd trade exclusives with my Sword buds, but I really, really prefer Amped Toxtricity. (And it hopefully has better stats.) And I don't want to just trade one in, I want to raise it as part of normally going through the game. And even then, if forms are Sword exclusive, it's not like I could trade someone for a Toxel and guarantee it'd evolve into Amped Toxtricity in my game, right? Not sure if that's been a thing.
I already preordered the game, but thankfully it's physical, so I'm hoping I can request they change it. But even if they can, should I? I want to do it ASAP before they say "Oh, it's too late" or something. Wish the game would get mined so we'd know for sure, but that isn't looking likely until right about release as is.
So, do any of you have any idea what the best move to make would be? (inb4 "don't buy it fag")
