>>44457760If you're just looking for decks, check out the world championship decks from various years as you're interested. They're the first place decks from all age divisions of the yearly world championships + one wild card to round out the options. I personally like 2013 and 2015's deck selections best from these pre-constructed decks, but older formats (gen 4's later years in particular) have their merits and people swear by them being the best years of the game's life.
Playing the world championship decks gives you an easy "in" to top level strategy and game pace, which is the best way to really get into the game. Next best thing is dicking around building your own decks with a friend, but it's hard to find another person interested enough to really make this fun imo.
Standard is a power creeped shitshow right now, I wouldn't recommend anyone to actually play pokemon tcg in its current state.
Theme decks are absolute shit outside of theme vs theme, though that in itself can be fun and is worth trying while learning.
Pic related is my favorite deck to play period
because it's my pet deck that actually caught on as an archetype and gets to unironically slam mother fucking charizard, but it was in its stride in the middle of the 2015-2016 season when city championships were happening; the next sets to release that year invalidated its play for the world championships and beyond. RIP.
The Lackey recommendation is best if you can get a friend or two to play with you via the program, it's got a player lobby server to host and join games online but few people play pokemon on it. Lackey's also amazing for "goldfishing" solitaire hands to see how a deck will play out on turn 1 typically, and supports hotseat play or solo play of two separate decks. pkmncards dot com is also a great resource if you want to search for a specific text string/effect on a card, or just want to ogle the full art pokegirls.
There's plenty of them.
