my pokemon look relatively dangerous enough that they can battle, some also just have a subtle design that works well and look realistic enough to be believable and they themselves are drawn well too.
things like kingler, dragalge, primeape, starmie, vikavolt, cramorant, talonflame, wishiwashi, passimian, araquanid, barraskewda, donphan, crawdaunt, most fossils, most plants, most water pokemon.
naturally i have my own list of pokemon that goes against what i usually like but they're rare exceptions reserved for only a handful of pokemon.
