Mine is that the whole '4 moves at a time' thing is a pokemon league rule to make official battles more interesting and more easy to keep track of. Sure, some pokemon might be so stupid that they can only remember a few commands, but I'm pretty sure my Pikachu can't forget to use electric attacks entirely or my commands to use them that I just taught.
