>>48267067I’m really terrified at the current political landscape of my country (Canada). I’m watching in real time as our rights are being tossed to the wayside, and all the conspiracy theorists that even I thought were crazy are proven right, over and over and over. But what really has me down is just how many people are not only ok with it, but are willing to fight tooth and nail against those who just wanna preserve their human rights. It’s part of a larger trend I’ve noticed with western society as a whole, all the people who claim that they’re freedom fighters who are fighting for the rights of those who have been ignored (gay rights activists, pro choice activists etc) are suddenly flip flopping their opinions now that the time has come to extend these philosophies to people they don’t personally agree with.
I’m now seeing that, Really they aren’t any better then the people they’re fighting against, they just fight for what they, personally believe in and nothing else.
“My body my choice” says the pro choice activist until someone doesn’t want the vax. “You shouldnt be able to deny people basic services based on their personal life choices” says the gay rights activist, till someone doesn’t want the vax.
Tldr: Everyone are hypocrites and I feel I’ve wasted so much energy trying to be the best, most just person I can be thinking everyone else was doing the same
