i legitimately wish game freak's staff would sit down, play the kiseki series, and take notes, because that is unironically the franchise they should be copying. kiseki has a sprawling world broken up into different regions like pokemon, and one nice thing they do is show you the world of zemuria from a different lens in each region - the bracers in liberl, the sss in crossbell, class vii in erebonia, and the spriggans in calvard. this in turn impacts the gameplay. for example, because the spriggans are known for operating in a moral grey area, they've introduced a smt-style morality system for the calvard games so you can be as good or bad as you want to be.
i don't understand how a tiny poorfag studio like falcom can figure this out but all pokemon can do is lurch from the red/green treadmill to the ubisoft treadmill.
