Why did XY give you such a large amount of friends/rivals? Only Calem/Serena battle you frequently, the rest of them you battle once or twice. The men don't even get actual starters to work with. I know the canon reason is because they don't care about battling by why are they part of the main story to begin with? This may sound like autistic nitpicking but it's just something that sticks out to me with how focused the other games are about their rivals.
That all being said, Shauna trading you her starter's baby is pretty cute.
