At least Sonic fans call out SEGA and Sonic Team games all the time and prove time and time again that they can do better in romhacks and fangames.
Meanwhile Pokemon fans lap up whatever shit they're fed as long as it has the Pokemon label on it, screech at anyone who questions GF, and try to get fangames, romhacks DCMA'd out of sheer spite.
And if it's not that they get severely butthurt at the idea of another monster collecting game (Digimon, Yokai Watch, TemTem) because this franchise literally holds a monoply on the entire genre so that means nothing else should exist. Even though that monoply is part of why the games are so shit now, why try if you have no competition? Pokemon fans are straight up cultists.
