I've only played Yokai Watch 2. I don't hate the designs, and there's plenty of cool ones that /vp/ will ignore because these faggots get offended at seeing monster designs that aren't fuckable.
But as for the gameplay, it's pretty solid. It forces you to pay attention in a lot spots, and I've gotten my shit nearly pushed in a couple of boss fights. There's also a ton of shit to do on the side on the base versions alone. Overall I've had miles more fun than any of the 3DS Pokemon games put together.
If there's one I don't like about YW gameplay though, it's the fucking recruitment system which can be absolutely infuriating at times, and part of me hopes they just rip the demon negotiations from SMT and put them in YW4. Also i'm not a fan of the terror time shit either.
