BECAUSE Pokemon is the largest media franchise ever and has the ressources to do better.
BECAUSE other studios have such good graphics with less funding.
BECAUSE it comes off as lazyness and not caring about actually putting in effort because the concept and name itself will make them money.
Nobody would be that mad if it was any other franchise. There are tons of indie games on the switch that dont look that great, which is perfectly fine and reasonable since the budget and manpower on those is limited.
But POKEMON games looking that unpolished, having such bad textures and overall qualitx despite it being the highest grossing media franchise of all time, despite other first party Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Xenoblade etc. looking so infintely much better on the same hardware? It is just absurd.
Of course, at the end of the day, gameplay and the games being fun are more important factors, but defending that argument doesn't sit right with me when it's Pokemon we are talking about.
They absolutely could and should do better.
