I've also learned from hunting in SV that you don't even need a shiny sandwich if you just have the charm assuming you use level 2 encounter sandwiches and know where to spawn the Pokemon without too much interference. Yeah, you get non-targeted Pokemon from time to time but if you are seeing 8-10 in about fifteen seconds of waiting that's more than reliable enough. SV is also great because you can do crap like picture related with level 2 sandwiches and bypass the Herba Mystica nonsense.
1 in 1024 sounds like a lot, but in my experience it's like an hour or so before you get a shiny in the last 10 or so I've gone for doing it this way, and each sandwich is the equivalent of spending like 2000 Pokedollars for a sandwich instead of dealing with raids for Herba Mystica.
I did all the Violet Paradoxes with just the rock method and a level 2 sandwich and got each of them within about two sandwiches. Had to even get a second Iron Bundle because the first one I OKHO'd on an NVE from my Clauncher. Only ones I had to do with a tier 3 sandwich were Moth and Thorns, but I'm pretty sure Thorns with a level 2 is completely viable because of the slope warp so Iron Moth is really the only one a 3 is better for.
