>>41520468The shotgun approach might work out for him in the end. The jack of all trades angle will let him fill any available role, sure. He might benefit from picking an area of study to devote himself to, though. If he wants to go to Galar though, he'll probably get roped into studying Dynamax energy, and given his present focus on gene sampling, probably specifically the Gigantomax gene. Why some Pokemon get special forms when they dynamax and other Pokemon of the same species don't.
As for why Humbert's got the Pokemon he's got, it's really just a matter of "ran into someone he liked/made a connection to and couldn't help but catch." The coherent theme of his team comes more from the individual Pokemon's personalities than the species themselves. There's a general undercurrent of "don't judge a book by its cover," and a focus on "unlikely friendships" and "encouraging growth without changing who you are at your core" explored with the team.
Unless you meant "what's Humbert's deal" which is a different thing I guess.
>>41520501Do you mean stuff like golden bits, or fancy carvings maybe? I don't know enough about what regular rosary beads are made of to know what special ones are like. One of the beads being a Clamperl's big pearl could be kinda' neat. An heirloom rosary that works sorta' like a cleanse tag sounds rad honestly. Enjoy the ruins!
>>41520626I'm just super passionate about Pokemon as a setting and universe and love talking about it with you folks. I'm generally pretty pleased that my character is well-received and doesn't draw any significant ire. Humbert for sure radiates Big Dad Energy, it's part of the juxtaposition of "big dirty hairy nature man" and "sweet gentle caretaker" that the character hinges upon.
