Dawn never got an Empoleon cause her Piplup was too marketable

Brock never got Swampert (despite Swampert would've fitted him perfectly)

Snivy never evolve even tho everybody wanted her too.
(This one is particularly egregious because Serperior is more popular than Snivy. But Ash couldn't get one because???? There was literally no reason why Snivy couldn't become a Serperior. Instead the wasted the evolution on TEDPIG despite no one wanting it)
