I broke down and redownloaded the game yesterday after uninstalling it back in 2016. I checked my email and I had a "we miss you" promo code but it didn't work. The app still uses up quite a bit of battery even in reduced battery mode + no AR but it definitely chews up less phone data, which was my biggest complaint that made me quit. At least a portable charger can help with the battery issues.
The improved trainer customization is nice even though the shoe options are pitiful, but maybe that's because I'm spoiled by Splatoon customization. They should really fix issues with clipping clothing items.
