It's how I moved on from those "fossil" abominations in swoosh, and I literally didn't see Dialga's and Palkia's awful new forms until 7 months after PLA came out. Rewatch old anime and movies, and look at cute art of old mon and write fanfics. Also play old romhacks. I'm having a blast with Polished Crystal currently. No more doom and gloom- remember the past fondly and keep it alive in your heart.
